About Dhamma Sota

Dhamma Sota meaning “ Stream of Dhamma”  is situated at Village Rahaka, Sohna (Haryana) almost 70 Kms. from New Delhi Railway Station. Established in the year 2000, the centre is in 16 acres of land surrounded by deep green valley of Aravali Hills.

Facilities comprise: A pagoda with individual meditation cells, a meditation hall for 100 students, three smaller halls for 40 people, a commercial-size kitchen, two dining rooms. The accommodation available at the centre is sufficient for 120 meditators (72 males and 48 females). All rooms are for single occupancy and have attached bathrooms. A simple vegetarian menu, developed to satisfy the needs of most students, is offered at all courses.

Ten-day courses are held twice every month for new and old students.  These courses start on every 1rst and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Directions to the Centre by Rented Car or Taxi

Taxis can be hired from any place in New Delhi.  And the rate is approximately Rs. 2000 to the centre.

Route by Car or Taxi from New Delhi via Gurgaon:

1. From Delhi Airport or New Delhi take the Jaipur Highway i.e. NH-8.
2. Cross the toll
3. Take left turn from Exit 10 i.e. Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon.
4. This is Sohna Road. Travel 22km.
5. At the Bhiwadi -Palwal-Alwar junction take the road to Palwal.
6. Travel 4km and  turn left on the Sohna- Ballabhgarh highway .
7. Travel 6 km. A big hoarding of ‘Dhammasota’ across the road will be there.
8. Turn right from here. This is also Nimmod police post.
9. Travel 1 km and you will reach Dhamma Sota on your right

Route by Car or Taxi from New-Delhi via Faridabad:

1. Reach Ashram crossing and take the Mathura Road.
2. After reaching Faridabad, take right turn towards Batkal Lake.
3. Cross the fly-over and reach the roundabout.
4. Turn left from the roundabout and travel about 8-9 km.
5. You will reach a T-crossing. This is Sohna-Ballabhgarh road. Take right turn and travel about 15 km.
6. There is a big banner across the road of Dhammasota. This is also Nimmod Police Post
7. Turn left from here and travel another 1 km to reach the centre.

Another Route using Sikhri road:

1. After reaching Ballabhgarh flyover travel for 2km take the right turn to Sikhri Road.
2. You will reach Pir Ki Dargah.
3. After Pir Ki Dargah turn right.
4. Head for Sikrona village.
5. Travel  12-14 km you will reach Dhamma Sota Centre.

Directions to the Centre by Bus

Route by bus via Ballabhgarh:

1. From New Delhi go to Sarai Kale Khan Bus Stand or ISBT Bus Stand.
2. Take inter-state bus to Ballabhgarh.
3. From Ballabhgarh Bus Terminal you will get a bus. You have 2 options:
4. EITHER  take bus for Sohna via SamarthAala and get down at Dhammasota Centre
5. OR Sohna-Pali bus and get down at Village Nimmod.
6. From Village Nimmodh Dhamma Sota is about 1.5 kms away.  You can walk or hire Auto.

Route by bus via Sohna:

1. From New Delhi go to Sarai Kale Khan Bus Stand or ISBT Bus Stand.
2. Take inter-state bus which goes to Sohna.
3. At Sohna take a tempo. Ask for, Nimmod Police Post. Dhamma Sota is 1 km away from here. 

Route by bus via Gurgaon:

1. From New-Delhi Airport / New Delhi take an inter-state bus and get off at Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon.
2. From Rajiv Chowk take a shared auto to Bhiwadi Ballabhgarh Palwal junction
3. Take an auto to Nimmod police post.
4. From Village Nimmod the  Dhamma Sota is about 1 km away.  You can walk or hire Auto.

Directions to the Centre by Metro

Metro via Ballabhgarh:

1. Get off at Raja Nahar Singh Metro Station (Ballabhgarh) using the Violet Line.
2. From Raja Nahar Singh Metro Station (Ballabhgarh) go to Ballabhgarh Bus Terminal. You will get a bus. You have 2 options:
3. EITHER  take bus for Sohna via Samarthala and get down at Dhammasota Centre OR Sohna-Pali bus and get down at Village Nimmod.
4. From Village Nimmodh Dhamma Sota is about 1.5 kms away.  You can walk or hire Auto.

Metro via Gurgaon:

1. Get off at the Huda Centre using the Yellow Line.
2. Take an auto to Sohna Road.
3. Take a shared auto to Bhiwadi- Ballabhgarh- Palwal Junction
4. Take a shared auto to Nimmod Police Post.
5. Dhamma Sota is 1km walk from Nimmod Police Post.

Directions to the Centre by Train

Train via Ballabhgarh:

1. Many local EMU trains run from New Delhi Railway Station.
2. Get down at Ballabhagarh Railway Station.
3. From Ballabhgarh station go to the bus stand.
4. From Ballabhgarh Bus Terminal you will get :
5. EITHER a bus for Sohna via Samarthala and get down at DhammaSota Centre
6. OR Sohna-Pali bus and get down at Village Nimmod.
7. From Village Nimmodh Dhamma Sota is about 1.5 kms away.  You can walk or hire Auto.

Directions to the Centre by Air

1. From anywhere in India or abroad you can take a flight to New Delhi.
2. Hire a taxi from the airport and go to the centre via Gurgaon. (See above ‘Route by Car or Taxi from New Delhi via Gurgaon’)
3. Alternatively, take a bus from the airport and go via Gurgaon. (See above ‘Route by bus via Gurgaon’ or ‘Route by bus via Sohna’)
